This compilation was a project of 3 years work, it meant to be a vinyl & CD release. This is a must have compilation for all the lovers of ex-Yugoslavian dark rock and industrial music.

First side or CD1/Vinyl1 is called 'Loud Machines'. It gives a good representation of industrial rock and dark alter rock bands from ex.Yugoslavia. Period - 1990 - 2015. It has 20 bands, from all over Yugoslavian region. The other side CD2/Vinyl2 is called "Within darkness" and goes even further - period 1980 - 2015. Note that 5 big bands (important for this release) didn't wanted to participate and some of them abandoned the idea.The release date for this was 21. October 2014. unfortunately, record label which was about to release this withdraw and changed it's mind. So, Crime:Scene record label decided to release it for a free download, because a lot of the bands wanted it to be available for the public somehow. Here it is finally, enjoy it and support these great artists.

exYu Gothic & Dark Rock compilation

Ex-Yugoslavian GOTHIC ROCK & DARK ROCK

Ex-Yugoslavia is a term for the region were Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Montenegro countries exist today. It was all one big communist country until the war in 1991. Anyway, here is something that might be interesting for you guys. This is another oldschool mixtape compilation that I've done to present to you gothic rock & dark bands bands from these parts. Most of them are long gone, some other changed their music style to commercial music and some of them are still active. Since some of the tracks were in very poor sound quality I tried to re-master them and clean them, some of them now sound really bright, some other are beyond help. I've attached a small txt file to the compilation were you have information about the bands. Anyway, most of the bands on this compilation are from the 80's and 90's. Hope you will like them. This is a vol.1 compilation, vol.2 will come sometime soon. :)

Signum - Selected Songs (2011)

SIGNUM : SELECTED SONGS (2011)

One more interesting artist from the oldschool era comes to our record label. This time it is the gothic rock band Signum dating from the mid 90's, and coming from Novi Sad. Signum performed various concerts and promoted the Bauhaus oriented sound to the audience since it's beginnings in early 90's. Band was always floating in the underground scene. It was never clear if they are active or not, but finally in 2007. they showed up on "Neki noviji klinci" compilation with their cover of Djordje Balasevic's "D-Mol". We got in contact with them and here it is now - a complete Signum opus from several different eras of the band. Digitally re- mastered and ready to burn your ears and soften your hearts. Enjoy!

Signum

SIGNUM

Signum is a music band formed in Novi Sad, Ex Yugoslavia, Serbia.

In the year of 1994 Farkas Csongor – guitar, synths , Baksa Gaspar – bass guitar and Antal Szilard – drumms & vocal, gave the name Signum to their group.
The first three songs arises in a very short period of time and were recorded in a studio. ’Fellow traveler’, ’Frost works’ and ’I dreamed again’ makes their trilogy. During the recordings, Jankovics Andrea joined the group with – back vocals & synths.
From the very beginning among the members, spontaneously developes a direction, to dark wave sound. The group rehearses every day in an adapted garage.
In 1995. Signum has their first performance in a club called ’Dublin’ in Petrovaradin and in the same time the group inspires them, for to be more live performances held there. The public compares their music and performance with a group called Bauhaus. The rest of the concerts were held in SPENS, Atrijum, other clubbs etc, also in Novi Sad.
Signum records some of their rehearsals and performances with a VHS camera and from that material makes their two video clips, which you can watch on this internet link: www.myspace.com/signumdark
In 1997. the group gathered enough material for their first album so they went to studio again.
After a mounth, they recorded all of the instruments except the vocals. Than suddenly the band fell apart and the album stayed like that.
In 1999. Signum becomes more known and just than they starts to recieve invitations to perform, etc...

In that year, Gasa moved to Budapest and continued with performances and music first with his project called ’Mind-jart’ and after ’Mindkiller’, more nursering the sound of electronic and industrial music. See the link: www.myspace.com/mindjart
Csongor joined a pop group from Novi Sad called ’Minstrel’, with whom he playes a couple of years, than he makes a pause until 2006. when he makes a new group called DjuChong which is still active. See the link: www.myspace.com/djuchong
Szilard continued to perform and to make music with his brothers, The Antals.

In 2003. Szilard and Csongor started to cooperate again. They composed a music for a short movie, called Winter, which they signed as Signum.
Immediately after they’re going to studio where they are recording four new songs, from which they recorded one, called „The change that never comes“ with The Antals, in a new version. The song is performed for a TV show amongst other songs from The Antals.

In the middle of 2008. a compilation of Ðorðe Balaševiæ’s adaptions have been published, called ’Neki noviji klinci’, by PGP, where Szilard and Csongor presents their version of a song, called ’D-moll’ and they signed them selves as Signum! It is interesting that on the compilation, everyone presented their selves in a rock manner, and amongst them only Signum stands out with their minimal electronic approach in music.
